Controversial TV presenter Piers Morgan has signed a new global deal with News Corp that will see him host a new talk show for Sky New Australia.
Launching in early 2022. Piers Morgan’s new TV show will air on talkTV in the UK, FOX Nation for US audiences, and on Sky News Australia.The show will be produced and filmed at News UK’s studios in London Bridge.
talkTV is a new 24/7 news channel which is set to bring a ‘Fox News’ style presentation to the UK when it launches early next year. Fox Nation is a new subscription streaming service which is set to be launched in the US by Fox News in a move designed to target viewers moving away from Cable Television.
These international developments come as Foxtel prepares to launch its own standalone news streaming platform Flash. The new product which was previously revealed by TV Blackbox, Flash will launch in Q4 and is its expected to incorporate on-demand programming from talkTV and Fox Nation in addition to content from Foxtel’s existing pay-tv news channels.
As part of the new deal, News Corp owned publisher HarperCollins UK has signed world rights for Piers Morgan’s upcoming new book title and will publish in hardback, audio and digital formats.
The new deal will also see Morgan join newspapers, The Sun (UK) and the New York Post (US) as a columnist. Piers is also set to present a series of True Crime documentaries.
