Australia and France have a fierce head-to-head rivalry, with many of their recent meetings having been decided by only a handful of points.
They will face off for the first time on Australian soil since 2014, in the eToro three-match test series.
Coverage will be presented by Stan Sport and Wide World of Sports’ incredible commentary lineup, hosted by Roz Kelly and Nick McCardle, and featuring ex-Wallabies superstars including Tim Horan, David Campese, Drew Mitchell, Morgan Turinui and Justin Harrison to break down every minute of the action.
The Wallabies will be captained once again by Michael Hooper, their most experienced player competing in his 106th test for his country. He is joined by a host of Super Rugby AU stars in Waratahs captain Jake Gordon, Brumbies captain Allan Alaalatoa and Reds powerhouse Taniela Tupou.
Coach Dave Rennie has also named rookie Noah Lolesio in the team, who will join Gordon in a new-look halves pairing.
Meanwhile, ‘les Bleus’ will be fielding an exciting side packed with youthful exuberance, with several rookies among the pack.
Coach Fabien Galthie has put placed the captaincy on impressive flanker Anthony Jelonch, alongside other young talented French stars including Louis Carbonel, Jean-Baptiste Gros and Arthur Vincent – whom all starred in France’s single point victory over Australia in the 2019 World Rugby Under 20 Championship.
Game 2 will continue from AAMI Park in Melbourne next Tuesday July 13th, before returning to Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane for the third and final game on Saturday, July 17th.
