It’s almost like people are picking and choosing the things they want to watch, and not all of it is on free-to-air TV…
As is now the standard A Current Affair (706,000) continues as Nine’s strongest, and Travel Guides (631,000) didn’t fare too badly either. Doctor Doctor (353,000) up/down on recent weeks, however the bulk of the audience would be coming from BVOD and catchup (as is now the norm for drama). The late evening split of New Amsterdam (76,000) [BNE/SYD] and Footy Classified (127,000) [MEL/ADL/PER] rounded out the night.
Nine first in both primary (19.4%) and network (28.3%) rankings.
Home & Away (591,000) puts in another solid effort though still second. Big Brother Australia (562,000) gives a little extra puff so that it doesn’t look like all its wind has been blown from its sails, landing third for the timeslot. How To Look Good Naked (194,000) should add “to Nobody” at the end of its title for truth-in-advertising. Reckoning (67,000) vanishing into the later evening as Seven wash their hands of it.
Seven second in both primary (18.7%) and network (26.4%) rankings.
Wednesday’s on the ABC are by far their best night. 7:30 (515,000) gets a bit of a bump from Hard Quiz (636,000), still the highest rating quiz show on Australian TV. The combo also landed as second in the timeslot. The Weekly With Charlie Pickering (488,000) tracks down a little, and You Can’t Ask That (359,000) suffers in part from all episodes being available on iview…though it is a bloody great series. QI (239,000) and a repeat of The Set (69,000) finish Aunty’s evening.
ABC third in primary (12.7%) and fourth in network (17.2%) rankings.
The Project (266,000 6:30pm; 419,000 7pm) continues to perplex–diabolical ratings that rarely track upward, yet it is an entertaining and informative show. MasterChef Australia (513,000) slips down to its lowest numbers this season. New and repeat eps of Bull (243,000; 180,000) almost draws its season to a close.
10 fourth in primary (11.6%) and third in network (19.5%) rankings.
