Nine has made a change to its programming schedule by bumping next week’s premiere of The Weakest Link with Magda Szubanski
Nine had previously advised The Weakest Link would be premiering on Tuesday, May 4 at 8:50 pm. The highly anticipated reboot is now out of the schedule with the network advising the series is now expected to premiere later in the month.
A spokesperson for Nine confirming the decision telling TV Blackbox;
“Due to the tight production schedule Weakest Link will now launch at the end of May on Channel 9.”
In its place Nine will now air the movie Jumanji – Welcome to the Jungle on May 4 with another movie, Central Intelligence, scheduled for the week after.
While Magda Szubanski is widely considered a beloved comedian and is loved by many, she has also recently generated negative headlines due to a series of Twitter posts aimed at the PM’s wife, Jenny Morrison.
The schedule change comes after Nine recently frustrated viewers by pushing back the advertised return of adventure series Travel Guides by two weeks.
Nine’s decision to commission an updated version of The Weakest Link with Magda Szubanski comes after the outstanding success of Hard Quiz on ABC. The acerbic quiz format hosted by comedian, Tom Gleeson has proven to be a consistent ratings juggernaut that regularly defeats its commercial rivals.
Nine’s head of content, production and development Adrian Swift recently talked up the revival stating.
“Weakest Link is one of the world’s most loved and enduring quiz formats. It’s not just about what you know, but also knowing who’s your biggest threat and when to bank your winnings.
We are very proud to have the new Weakest Link here on Nine.”
The Weakest Link previously aired in Australia on Seven in 2001/2002 with host Cornelia Frances.
Magda is not a good fit for this show.
I personally will not watch a show that Magna has anything to do with, she is shallow, self indulgent and outright rude.
Go away Zubanskey and don’t come back.

I will not be watching she can dish it out but can’t t take it! I think and hope she has a big heart, but get sick of the gay marriage thing, it would of happened anyway, where was she, all those years before, too frightened to lose work, many people had to take that risk and survived! Some people in the media think they are an authority on everything, leave other people alone!
She’s Australia’s Rosie O’Donnell, (practically separated at birth) the show may debut in a few weeks but it’ll be pulled off air soon after due to her Twitter antics mark my words!
Hope Magdna and her show go down the toilet quickly.

as if channel 9 want to do a Game Show bring back Jeopardy or Sale Of The Century and not this rubbish as the channel 7 version was better this one looks like a copy cat version of the usa show,
This will be a big fail! I have not seen one positive comment in support of Magda SZUBANSKI or this show with her as host. She plays holier than thou and expects all the support in the world as a victim because of her lesbian and weight driven victimhood. She certainly has no dramas in character assassinating anyone that she feels doesn’t align with her values, but cries “poor victim me” when she gets kick-back on her obnoxious public opinions and statements. I used to think she was an ok comedian but now I see her for who she really is; a self indulgent, over self-inflated twat, nasty piece of work. I’d rather collect toe-nail clippings than watch this show. Good luck Magda, you’ll need it! Just remember the people you tread on while you are rising will be kicking your butt when you fall.

Change the hostess and then will watch Weakest/Wokest Link. Can’t stand the ad’s. with Magda on them. Wokest choice Channel 9.

We teach our children not to accept bullying in any form and here is a channel promoting a show based on bullying. And to say that they need to compete with Hard Quiz, another show where contestants are bullied and humiliated is a poor excuse. We just had an enquiry into bullying in gymnastics and there is an enquiry into conduct of staffers in Parliament and this channel puts up this garbage!
Will never watch anything with her in it or associated with. Be mindful how you target with mean words, karma has a habit of revisiting. Living life by double standards has flaws, it’s time to withdraw, repair and lie low!
