As Netflix focuses on Australian content the streamer now turns its attention to docu-soaps

From the Executive Producer of The Real Housewives of Melbourne comes Netflix’s latest foray in local content production, with a series set in Byron Bay called Byron Baes.

The series follows a group of Instagrammers who are ‘living their best lives’ in the hunt for ‘likes’ and ‘to be liked’.

The international streamer describes the series as ‘our love letter to Byron Bay’ and the clever marketing postcard is filled with language used by ‘grammers, which might alienate potential older viewers.

Byron Baes will be produced by Eureka Productions and Emma Lamb (Married at First Sight Australia, The Real Housewives of Sydney) will be Executive Producer.

Chris Culvenor, Co-CEO of Eureka Productions says:

“With a compelling cast, spectacular settings and some truly addictive drama, Byron Baes has all the binge-worthy ingredients. Eureka is thrilled to be working with Netflix on this love letter to one of the world’s most perfect playgrounds.
