With much of the country housebound, pets have become a major source of comfort during the coronavirus lockdowns.

While animal adoptions sky-rocketed during the initial lockdown period, many pounds are now bracing for a spike in capacity as people begin to return to work and normal life. So, what happens to these seemingly disposable companions?

Knowns as Swifties, they’ll do anything to make their hero top the Billboard charts. Some of it is harmless, like buying multiple copies of her CDs to bump up sales.

But there is a darker side to the fandom, where so-called extremist fans target and orchestrate harassment and doxing to silence anyone criticising the popstar. It’s so extreme, even Swifties themselves are scared of each other.
