Perched on top of a hill with views to drought-ravaged Wellington, in NSW, the once gracious Federation homestead “Nanima” was a sad reminder of happier times.
With eight bedrooms and even its own ballroom, the fallen down ruin was a mammoth restoration job but that didn’t deter Anglican pastor Carl Palmer and wife Jennie.
With limited resources and optimistic plans to do much of the work themselves, they set about trying to recreate the homestead’s grandeur, but finding the line between a functioning modern home and a heritage restoration is harder than they anticipate.
