It’s East v West in Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final

The east coast and west coast face off in the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final at Nissan Arena in Brisbane this Sunday at 1.00pm AEDT on Nine and 9Now.

West Coast Fever are into their second Grand Final in three years after knocking out the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the preliminary final. They meet the Melbourne Vixens, who are through to their maiden Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final and are hoping to bring the title home to Victoria as it struggles with the ongoing lockdown.

Both teams have made it to the decider after living, training and playing in the Queensland hub to keep the competition going amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

In reaching the Grand Final, the Fever and the Vixens proved to be the teams that made the most of the two exciting changes introduced to Super Netball this season: the Super Shot and rolling substitutions.

Australian netball champion, Liz Ellis, says:

“I am super excited about the Grand Final. This has been a season like no other, with many of the teams sacrificing time away from home and loved ones to ensure the season went ahead. The Vixens and the West Coast Fever have shown a deep level of passion and dedication to the game which we’re sure to see played out this Sunday.

“Both teams boast some of the best players in the world and their coaches, Simone McKinnis and Stacey Marinkovich, have done a phenomenal job under the circumstances, leading them to the finals.”

Covering the highs and lows of what is set to be an exhilarating Grand Final will be expert commentator Liz Ellis, caller Sue Gaudion, sideline commentators Bianca Chatfield and Laura Geitz, alongside NSW Swifts captain Maddy Proud.
