TV Blackbox can reveal the ratings numbers for week two of the Footy Finals with streaming platform KAYO again making an impact.
The increased growth of Kayo has seen streaming audiences for week two of the AFL Finals rise 110% compared with last year, while week two of the NRL Finals were up a whopping 170%.

Week two of footy finals coverage attracted an average national audience of 447K per match across the combined platforms of Foxtel Linear (cable & satellite) and Foxtel Streaming Platforms (Foxtel Go, Foxtel Now and Kayo).
The rating’s result was up +27% compared with week two of last years finals series and was the all-time highest rating weekend of NRL Finals Footy on Fox League (Foxtel Platforms + Kayo).
TV Blackbox can reveal Saturday nights coverage of the Eels vs Rabbitohs averaged 448k nationally across Foxtel, Foxtel Now, Foxtel GO and Kayo (pay-tv 331k) (streaming 117k). The combined audience figure made it the 2nd highest ever NRL Finals game on Fox League of all time.
Nine’s Free-To-Air coverage of the match averaged 836k nationally (513k metro). This puts the final combined FTA+FoxLeague audience for the game at 1.284 million.
Friday nights Roosters vs Raiders NRL clash averaged 445k nationally (pay-tv 302k) (streaming 143k). The combined audience figure made it the 4th highest ever NRL Finals game on Fox League of all time.
Nine’s Free-To-Air coverage of the match averaged 781k nationally (489k metro), This puts the final combined FTA+FoxLeague audience for the game at 1.226 million.
AFL
Saturday night’s SF#1 between Geelong and Collingwood attracted a cumulative audience of 395K across the Foxtel Group, (pay-tv 286k) (streaming 109k). The result made it the highest rating match of the Week 2 Finals round and was up 6% on the corresponding Saturday night fixture last season (Brisbane v GWS).
Sevens Free-To-Air coverage of the match averaged 1.126mil (865k metro). This puts the final combined FTA+FoxFooty audience for the game at 1.521 million.
Friday night’s SF#2 between Richmond and St Kilda attracted a cumulative audience of 383K across Foxtel, Foxtel Now, Foxtel GO and Kayo. This result was up 2% on the corresponding Friday night fixture last season (Geelong v West Coast).
Sevens Free-To-Air coverage of the match averaged 1.043mil (802k metro). This puts the final combined FTA+FoxFooty audience for the game at 1.426 million.
