Following four incredibly exciting matches in the first week of the NRL Finals, the race for the 2020 Premiership is down to six teams – and two more are facing elimination in mouth-watering showdowns on Nine.

Friday night the 2019 Grand Final rematch takes place: the Raiders versus the Roosters at the SCG, with as much animosity as skill on the line.

They have met twice this season for one win apiece, making this one anyone’s game. The Roosters get co-captain Jake Friend and superstar Sonny-Bill Williams back from injury, while Canberra will field the mostly unchanged side that topped the Sharks last week. They will look for Josh Papalii to lead from the front and fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad to be dynamic at the back.

Saturday is another action-packed day: three games, starting with two NRLW clashes between the Roosters – fresh from an upset win – and the Warriors, followed by the NRLW premiership favourites going head-to-head when the powerhouse Broncos take on the talent-stacked Dragons.

Then the red-hot Rabbitohs meet the Eels at Bankwest Stadium in the other sudden-death NRL semi-final. The Rabbitohs have been blowing top eight teams away in recent weeks, with Cody Walker  and Adam Reynolds doing the damage. The up-and-down Eels will be sweating on the fitness of star winger Blake Ferguson and relying on inspirational captain Clint Gutherson to shine – otherwise they’ll be left wondering about what might have been in season 2020.
