Sky News Australia releases coverage details of Budget 2020

Sky News Australia will feature Australia’s most experienced political reporters and economic and business experts to deliver unrivalled live and dedicated coverage of what the Prime Minister has described as one of the most significant budgets in history.

With Treasurer Josh Frydenberg expected to deliver a record Budget deficit of $200 billion or more, Sky News will provide viewers with all the details and analysis of what the announcement means for the Australian economy and how the government is planning our recovery.

The countdown to the COVID-19 Treasurer’s Budget address begins at 5:00am on Tuesday 6 October with Peter Stefanovic on First Edition.

Then from 9:00am, Tom Connell will be joined by leading economists to discuss the potential market and economic impact of the Government’s package during AM Agenda.

At 12:00pm join Ashleigh Gillon during NewsDay for the latest predictions from politicians, pundits and policymakers.

Then at 2:00pm Sky News will cross to live coverage of Question Time during Parliament Live from the House of Representatives in Canberra.

Tom Connell will anchor Afternoon Agenda at 3:15pm from Canberra providing insight and analysis on the breaking news stories set to affect the outcome of the 2020 Budget.

At 5:00pm Chris Kenny anchors a special edition of The Kenny Report, setting the scene and examining the potential political and economic reaction to the budget.

At 6:00pm, Peta Credlin anchors a special 90-minute edition of Credlin with some of Australia’s best economic and financial experts joining the program to breakdown what will matter most.

Then live from 7:30pm, coverage from the House of Representatives, as Treasurer Josh Frydenberg hands down Budget 2020.

After the Treasurer delivers his speech, Chief News Anchor, Kieran Gilbert anchors Budget 2020 at 8:00pm.

Kieran will be joined for the hour-long analysis by an expert team, including Sky News Business Editor Ticky Fullerton, The Australian’s Economics Editor and co-anchor of Business Weekend, Adam Creighton, Political Editor Andrew Clennell, Sky News anchor Andrew Bolt and former Labor Cabinet Minister and Senator Stephen Conroy.

Kieran will also have a live one-on-one interview with Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Shadow Treasurer Jim Chalmers.  

Then at 9:00pm join Paul Murray as he cuts through the Canberra spin and breaks down what the budget means for ordinary Australians during Paul Murray Live.

At 11:00pm Peter Gleeson hosts The Front Page, taking a first look at the nation’s front pages to examine how the Budget will play out in the media.

On Wednesday 7 October Sky News Budget 2020 coverage continues bringing viewers all the post-budget analysis.

From 5:00am on First Edition, Peter Stefanovic anchors the morning after coverage Budget Breakfast live from the front lawn of Parliament House. Peter will be joined by key political, business and industry figures as they deliver their verdict to the most significant Budget in modern history.

At 12:30pm Sky News will broadcast live coverage as Treasurer Josh Frydenberg delivers his Post-Budget Address to the National Press Club.

Then at 2:00pm Sky News will cross to live coverage of Question Time during Parliament Live as Labor look to put the Morrison Government to the test for the first time since the release of its Budget.

Kieran Gilbert and Andrew Clennell then return 3:15pm for Afternoon Agenda with complete analysis of the Budget and its fallout.

Then on Thursday 8 October at 7:30pm Sky News will broadcast live coverage as Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese delivers Labor’s Official Budget Reply.
