MON AUG 3 – The Real Housewives of Potomac S5

The Real Housewives of Potomac returns express from the US for a fifth season and it is worth the wait!  Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon, Monique Samuels, and Candiace Dillard Bassett will all be back for more family and friendship drama, jaw-dropping moments, and, of course, some fun with our favourite ladies from the P.  They’ll be joined by the newest Potomac Housewife, Wendy Osefo, a professor, political analyst, entrepreneur, wife, and mother of three.

WED AUG 5 – MOVIE: Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep starring Ewen McGregor

Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep continues the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his terrifying stay ay the Overlook Hotel in The Shining.  Ewen McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and newcomer Kyliegh Curran star in the supernatural thriller, directed by Mike Flanagan, from his own screenplay based upon the novel by Stephen King.



WED AUG 5 – Hiroshima: 75 Years Later

In the acclaimed filmmaking tradition of Peter Jackson’s They Shall Not Grow Old, comes a World War II documentary that reflects on the 75th anniversary of the dropping of the first atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. Culled from hours of declassified U.S. and Japanese archival footage and audio from survivors, scientists and the military, the film recounts one of the most shocking and sobering moments in international wartime history – from the making of the bombs to the horrifying devastation that it caused.

WED AUG 12 – MOVIE: Ford Vs Ferrari starring Matt Damon & Christian Bale

Academy Award-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in the remarkable true story of two 20th century mavericks who joined forces and rocked the world. Directed by James Mangold (Logan, Walk The Line), the film chronicles the relationship between visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles (Bale), who together battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on the dominating race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.

SUN AUG 16 – What Will Become of Us

Frank Lowy, founder of shopping mall giant Westfield, started with one Australian store and built it into a global, billion dollar enterprise. Now in his late 80s and facing the prospect of a merger that will lead to his retirement, he reflects on his past and events that have molded him into the fighter, philanthropist and survivor he is today.  Revisiting the sites of his childhood and young adulthood, What Will Become Of Us takes us on an intimate journey of a man who seems to have it all but is keenly aware of the past and challenges of the future for himself and his family.

SAT AUG 22 – We Hunt Together

This gritty cat-and-mouse thriller investigates the dangerous power of desire, combining stunning visuals with moral depth. When Freddy, a troubled young woman, is nearly assaulted outside a nightclub, the toilet attendant steps in to help. Baba, a former child soldier, acts with swift, unstoppable brutality. She’s entranced. The pair form an instant intoxicating connection. Something dark within both of them quickly emerges. Soon they set about exacting revenge on people from Freddy’s past – Baba’s skill for violence and Freddy’s tinge of psychopathy prove a lethal combination. But they’re not the only ones on the hunt. Can dysfunctional detectives DI Mendy and DS Franks set aside their opposing views long enough to catch the deadly duo.

TUE AUG 25 – MOVIE: Jumanji: The Next Level starring Dwayne Johnson

The gang is back but the game has changed.  As they return to Jumanji to rescue one of their own, they discover that nothing is as they expect.  The players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snow mountains, in order to escape the world’s most dangerous game.

Sir David Attenborough has a passion for birds’ eggs. These remarkable structures nurture new life, protecting it from the outside world at the same time as allowing it to breathe. Alone S7

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark (Complete Season release)

A six-part documentary series based on the book of the same name, I’ll Be Gone In The Dark explores writer Michelle McNamara’s investigation into the dark world of the violent predator she dubbed “The Golden State Killer,” the man who terrorized California in the 1970s and 80s and is responsible for 50 home-invasion rapes and 12 murders. Directed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus, the series is a detective story told in McNamara’s own words, through exclusive original recordings and excerpts from her book read by actor Amy Ryan. Drawing on extensive archival footage and police files as well as exclusive new interviews with detectives, survivors and family members of the killer, the series weaves together a picture of a complex and flawed investigation that challenged police for decades.

Pilgrimage: Road to Istanbul

Pilgrimage: Road to Istanbul follows a path formed just over 10 years ago with the aim to promote tolerance for all faiths and cultures. It will be a journey of discovery and adventure for our pilgrims. Starting in Serbia’s capital city Belgrade, the pilgrims will travel through Bulgaria and the mountainous Balkans, before crossing the border into Turkey, with their goal of reaching Istanbul and the magnificent Suleymaniye Mosque.

Lovecraft Country

The provocative and timely new supernatural drama series Lovecraft Country, based on Matt Ruff’s novel of the same name, explores the racist terrors of 1950s white America.  The ten-episode series follows Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors), as he journeys with his childhood friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollet) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) on a road trip from Chicago across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father, Montrose (Michael Kenneth Williams). Their search-and-rescue turns in to a struggle to survive and overcome both a racist white America and the monstrous creatures that could be ripped from the Lovecraft paperbacks George devours.  Lovecraft Country also features a stellar ensemble cast including Australian actor Abbey Lee and Aunjanue Ellis, Jada Harris, Wunmi Mosaka, Jamie Chung, Jamie Neumann, Jordan Patrick Smith and Tony Goldwyn.

Killer Tapes

Young Dylan

Executive produced, directed and written by Tyler Perry, the story follows a family whose world is turned upside down when their nephew, Young Dylan (rapper Dylan Gilmer), an aspiring hip-hop star, moves in unannounced.

Death Row: New Arrivals

In 2012, Trevor McDonald spent 2 harrowing weeks at Indiana State Prison – one of America’s most dangerous maximum-security facilities. Meeting the killers of the nightmarish death row cell block and hearing first-hand the shocking details of their crimes was a life changing experience for Trevor. It ultimately called into question his views on the death penalty and the fundamental nature of justice in America.  Five years on Trevor returns to meet the new arrivals on death row whose crimes are even more horrendous.  After five long years of living with only the memories of their crimes and the impending threat of execution, Trevor will seek to discover how the years have affected these men and he will see how the new arrivals are coping with the harsh realities of life on death row.

Stargirl (Complete season release)

DC’S Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Bassinger) as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series. The series focuses on the character that started creator Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister who was killed in a 1996 plane crash. In addition to Bassinger, the series also stars Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Trae Romano, Jake Austin Walker, Hunter Sansone, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson and Christopher James Baker.

Burden of Truth S3

In the third season of this Canadian legal drama, Joanna (Kristin Kreuk) and Billy (Peter Mooney) are finally a couple. They’re also a boutique law firm – Crawford Chang. They’re partners in law and partners in life, but right now, their romantic relationship seems as tenuous as their financially strained firm.  Whether it’s Billy & Joanna or Crawford Chang, one thing is certain – this isn’t working.

Counting On S5

The Duggars are back and there are some big changes ahead for this big family! Jinger and Jeremy are getting ready to start their new lives in Los Angeles and take an out-of-this-world road trip.
