Seven has secured Australian rights to produce a local version of the high energy, competitive series Ultimate Tag.
The format is based on the classic schoolyard game of tag (more commonly known as Chasey in Australia) and features teams of male and female contestants moving through highly elaborate indoor obstacle courses while professional taggers attempt to chase them down.
The series bares some similarities to the classic Gladiators format.

The Daily Telegraph reports production company Endemol Shine will produce the series for Seven.
Ultimate Tag premiered on US broadcaster Fox earlier this year to strong ratings, although these numbers have decreased significantly as the series progressed.
Casting is now underway for the Australian version which is expected to premiere on Seven in 2021.
