Consistent programming across its primary and multi-channels has allowed Seven to claim victory in Week 27.

After experiencing a terrible start to 2020, Seven has now won the last four weeks in a row.

Strong ratings for three nights of Big Brother followed by three nights of AFL is proving to be a winning recipe for the network at a time rivals are struggling to find popular content to fill primetime schedules.

With more big premieres on the way including, Farmer Wants a Wife, Plate of Origin and long-awaited drama Between Two Worlds, Seven will be hoping they can maintain this new found momentum.

Weekly Highlights

MasterChef Australia was the #1 entertainment franchise across the week. It’s biggest audience was on Tuesday with 1.31 million viewers nationally. (978k metro)

Have You Been Paying Attention? continues to benefit from the strong lead-in with 1.09 million viewers nationally (823k metro), making it the fifth most-watched entertainment show of the week.

The Sunday night episode of The Voice was the most-watched entertainment show for the week on Nine pulling an average national audience of 1.206 million nationally (867k metro).

60 Minutes built week-on-week audience with key demographics and Total People. Last weekend’s episode attracted an average national audience of 912k nationally (632k metro).

Friday nights Collingwood vs Essendon AFL match was the top sport of the week scoring an audience of 870k national (664k metro)

Renewed interest in COVID-19 pushed up news ratings, particularly in Melbourne. 7News was the winner nationally with the Mon-Fri bulletin averaging 1.772 million nationally (1.126 million metro). Nine News won the week in the key three east-coast cities.

Home and Away was the top Australian drama averaging 1.048 million nationally (651k metro) across Monday-Thursday.

Better Homes and Gardens won the Friday night lifestyle war with 911k nationally (567k metro), well ahead of the premiere episode of new look The Living Room on 10 with 672k viewers nationally (468k metro)
