Sixers and Stars clash for BBL09 crown before legends return in Bushfire Cricket Bash

The Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars will battle it out for this season’s BBL title on Saturday night live and free on Seven, before star-studded teams led by Australian cricket legends Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist renew old rivalries in the Bushfire Cricket Bash on Sunday.
This weekend the cricket community comes together for the Big Appeal, when fundraising efforts for people affected by the Australian bushfires will centre around the Australian women’s T20I encounters against India (Saturday) and England (Sunday), the BBL Final and Bushfire Cricket Bash – all four matches will be live and free on Seven.
Aussie stars Steve Smith, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon will be determined to lead the Sixers to their second BBL crown in The Final at 7.00pm AEDT on Saturday night, but Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and the Stars are confident they’re finally ready to snare the Big Bash’s ultimate prize.
Cricket fans will be treated to a blast from the past when the Ponting XI and Gilchrist XI do battle at Melbourne’s Junction Oval at 3.00pm AEDT on Sunday. A who’s who of cricket greats will take to the field again, including Brian Lara, Matthew Hayden, Andrew Symonds, Alex Blackwell, Wasim Akram and Justin Langer, while the newest member of Seven’s football commentary team Luke Hodge will swap a Sherrin for a Kookaburra for the occasion.
Then on Monday night join 7mate at 7.00pm AEDT for cricket’s night of nights, the 2020 Australian Cricket Awards, to see the winners of the highly coveted Allan Border Medal, Belinda Clark Award and Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year crowned.
