Its set to be an action-packed week of football as the Westfield Matildas kick off their campaign on home soil to reach the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Fox Sports will showcase every Matildas’ Olympic Qualifier LIVE and in HD with no ad-breaks during play.

In the third round of qualification, sitting within Group B, the Matildas will face the three other teams in their group, Chinese Taipei, Thailand and China. The top two teams will advance to the final round of qualifiers to face the top two teams from Group A. The Matildas, after qualifying and going down to Brazil in a quarter-final penalty shootout at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will be hoping for another chance to wear the green and gold in Tokyo and join Australia’s U23 men’s Olyroos side who have already qualified.

Kicking off today (Friday, February 7) is the Matildas first group match against Chinese Taipei at Campbelltown Stadium. LIVE pre-game coverage begins at 7.00pm with kick off from 7.30pm AEDT on FOX SPORTS 503.

Moving on to face Thailand on Monday (February 10), the Matildas are set to light up Bankwest Stadium once again, returning to the ground after drawing a record crowd attendance of 20,029 for their last friendly match against Chile in November. LIVE pre-game coverage begins at 7.00pm with kick off at 7.30pm AEDT on FOX SPORTS 505.

Their final group match sees the Matildas back at Campbelltown Stadium to go head-to-head against China on Thursday, February 13 with LIVE pre-game coverage from 7.00pm and kick off at 7.30pm AEDT on FOX SPORTS 505.

Host Tara Rushton alongside former Matildas Amy Duggan and Michelle Heyman will be calling all of the action on the ground, joined by expert commentator Brenton Speed.

Matildas Captain Sam Kerr said:

“I want us to focus on today’s training session and the first game, let’s win the first game and take it day-by-day.

It’s 4 years down the track since the last Olympics, and now we’re a lot fitter, have more experience and are more accustomed to the competition, the style of playing and what needs to be done – we’re better and stronger.”
