AMC Networks’ Acorn TV, the premier streaming service for British and international dramas, has agreed a deal with ITV Studios Global Entertainment to acquire the beloved, long-running British comedy drama Cold Feet, with seasons 1-7 now streaming and the latest installment, Season 8, to premiere for the first time in Australia on Acorn TV from October 14.

Twenty-two years after it first premiered, Cold Feet continues to enthrall fans with its funny, warm and heart-wrenching depiction of a group of friends living in Manchester. 2016 saw the eagerly awaited return of the award-winning hit series, created by Mike Bullen. Well received by audiences and TV critics alike, it was the biggest launch of a new drama on terrestrial TV that year.

Season Eight sees friends Adam (James Nesbitt), Karen (Hermione Norris), David (Robert Bathurst), Jenny (Fay Ripley) and Peter (John Thomson) return to screens with new relationships, financial struggles and closely-guarded secrets.

After Adam’s recent split with his girlfriend he’s back in the dating pool and wondering if he’s lost his mojo. Peter and Jenny have renewed their wedding vows and are committed to getting their marriage back on track, but Jenny is hiding a devastating secret.

David’s trying to impress girlfriend Nikki (Downton Abbey’s Siobhan Finneran), who has recently come into some cash, and is struggling to come to terms with being financially dependent while working his minimum wage job. Karen is focusing her energy on growing her business and raising her teenage children, but is there a big romance waiting for her around the corner?

Said creator Mike Bullen: “Cold Feet has long had a loyal following Down Under, a fact that was brought home to me when we filmed an episode in Sydney 20 years ago. Soon after that, I moved with my family to live in New South Wales. I’m proud to call Australia home and delighted that Acorn TV is the new home of Cold Feet in Australia. It’s great that Australian fans will know with certainty where they can see Season 8 of the show. I think it’s our best ever – I can promise plenty of laughter and tears.”

Kerensa Samanidis, GM for Acorn TV International, said, “Cold Feet has been loved by audiences across the world since it first broadcast. We’ve all grown with the characters through the ups and downs of their lives and we’re excited to bring the twists and turns of series 8 to Australian audiences.  Cold Feet is a perfect fit for Acorn TV, and, by providing a destination for audiences to enjoy all 8 series, we’ll delight longstanding Cold Feetfans whilst also introducing the show to new audiences.”

Called “Netflix for the Anglophile” by NPR and featuring “the most robust, reliable selection of European, British, Canadian and Australian shows” according to The New York Times, Acorn TV has carefully curated a world-class library of captivating crime thrillers, addictive dramas and intriguing mysteries for the Australian market.

The streaming service recently added a host of new content, with its hand-picked library of content now including fan favourites such as Broadchurch, Line of Duty, Doc Martin, George Gently, Foyle’s War, Midsomer Murder, Mr. Selfridge, Agatha Raisin, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, The Bletchley Circle and Jack Taylor.

The ad-free streaming service offers Australian audiences instant access to their favourite British and international dramas and crime shows to stream in the one place for the first time.

Australians can access Acorn TV through a wide range of devices including IOS (iPad and iPhone), Android (phone and Tablet), Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, Chromecast or by visiting acorn.tv. They can start watching now by signing up for a free trial, then for only AU$6.99 per month or an annual subscription for AU$69.99.
