Netflix have surprised fans of the BREAKING BAD franchise with the news they are releasing a film sequel to the series written and directed by the showrunner Vince Gilligan. EL CAMINO: A BREAKING BAD FILM straight out answers the clifhangerquestion “What happened to Jesse Pinkman?” on October 11.
There had been rumours spinning for month that the Greenbrier project filming in Albuquerque, New Mexico was something to do with the Breaking Bad universe. Emmy-winner Aaron Paul had been spotted around town, though fans though it might be for prequel series BETTER CALL SAUL which also films in the area.
Pinkman (Paul) returns as the dealer-turned-cook who was last seen in the finale when kingpin Walter White (Bryan Cranston) helped rescue him from an Aryan gang that forced him to make their famous blue meth. Pinkman was seen getting in an El Camino, speeding away, and driving through a locked gate to freedom.
