Tonight’s Dancing With The Stars had it all, laughter, triumph, drag, even Scott Tweedie! However, it was cricketing great Sir Curtly Ambrose and partner Siobhan who departed the dance floor.
Facing off against Jimmy and his partner Alex in the final dance off, the judges elected to save Jimmy. On his exit, Sir Curtly thanked the public for all the support he received during his experience on the show and when asked about teaching his wife Bridgette to dance, he joked; “I won’t make any promises”.
In addition to the celebrity’s own solo routines, each judge took to the floor tonight taking two celebs under their wing for ultimate bragging rights. And none other than US Dancing With The Stars winner Bindi Irwin was on hand to help judge each routine.
Jimmy Rees was first up with a fiery paso doble bringing back his sizzle and a score of 25. And despite a few slip ups and unsteady footwork, Craig commended Jimmy on his strength, power and dance.
The next performance saw Bindi swooning over Courtney Act’s Viennese waltz, with the special guest judge saying the magnetic performance was “completely captivating”, resulted in a score of 34.
Jett Kenny showed off his strong, masculine side in the paso doble and while his style didn’t quite hit the bullseye for Craig, Tristan thought he dominated the dance floor with his score of 26.
Revealing her vulnerable side tonight, Constance Hall danced a passionate rumba that received a best dance yet call from judges Sharna and Bindi and a score of 28.
Sir Curtly Ambrose stepped up his performance this week and added some much needed jeopardy with a “skyscraper lift” in his foxtrot that impressed the judges. Craig announced he finally saw some improvement while Bindi thought he personified sophistication and he was awarded a score of 19.
The final single dance of the night saw Samuel Johnson open up about his mental health struggles as he took on a heart felt Viennese waltz. Craig called the performance “classy, simple, stylish” and Samuel received a score of 29 points, coming in second after Courtney at the close of the first round of dances.
And when the judges teamed up with the celebrities for their very own group performance, things really started to heat up.

Craig Revel Horwood made quite the debut as Miss Hangingan from Annie: The Musical, alongside Courtney Act and partner Josh and Jimmy Rees with partner Alex. The quintet camped it up with the fun theatrical number and received a score of 28.
Next up Tristan MacManus upped the testosterone and let loose with a paso doble-tango mix with Jett Kenny and partner Lily and Sir Curtly Ambrose and partner Siobhan. Some nifty cape work from Sir Curtly combined with Jett’s strong partnering saw them get rare praise from Craig and a score of 25.
Finally, resident vixen Sharna Burgess teamed up with Constance Hall and partner Gustavo and Samuel Johnson and partner Jorja as they busted a move to The Cat Empire’s Fishies. Some tough love from Sharna earlier in the week paid off for Constance and Samuel as they triumphed, leading their team to land a score of 28.
Only five couples remain chasing the elusive mirror ball trophy as we up the ante and introduce trios for the first time next week. Stars will have to dance alongside two professional dancers for triple the fun.
