7 NEWS on track to claim 500 successive wins

The 6pm news battle is intense. Whether it’s fighting for a story to get it first or breaking exclusive yarns, the people who work across various news departments take pride in their work.

And one news service is about to hit a major milestone.

7 NEWS in Adelaide is on track to claim its 500th successive week. The local news service just notched up win 498 and looks a safe bet to achieve the milestone.

According to Seven, the Jane Doyle and John Riddell bulletin lifted its week on week audience as it topped news viewing. 

The result is interesting considering NINE focused heavily on Adelaide on Perth a few years ago when Craig McPherson was at the network. Amongst his other duties, he was charged with lifting the ratings of those two cities. McPherson ended up jumping ship back to Seven where he is now Head of News & Current Affairs there.

Here are the stats according to Seven;

 7NEWS  – 115,000

ABC NEWS  – 70,000

NINE NEWS  – 69,000

TEN NEWS FIRST – 43,000

Today Tonight with Rosanna Mangiarelli won 6.30pm with 92,000 viewers, claiming its 713th winning week in survey.

LAST WEEK – 6.30PM

TODAY TONIGHT – 92,000

NINE NEWS 6.30PM – 70,000

THE PROJECT 6.30PM – 22,000

Sunrise with David Koch and Sam Armytage remains a strong No. 1 in breakfast.

SUNRISE – 34,000

TODAY – 10,000

Seven’s SA Weekender won the local Sunday 5.30pm window.

LAST WEEK – LOCAL TRAVEL AND LIFESTYLE PROGRAMMING

SA WEEKENDER – 42,000

SOUTH AUSSIE WITH COSI – 39,000

Last night 7 News with Jessica Adamson was the No. 1 program on television in Adelaide with 107,000 viewers.
