Foxtel has announced a significant new multi-year content deal with Warner Bros. International Distribution which will see the pay-tv company become the exclusive home of Warner Bros. titles.

The deal includes four new series premiering on FOX8 and FOX SHOWCASE over the next twelve months: Castle Rock, Legacies, Roswell, New Mexico and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists.

The fresh deal comes after TEN was forced to exit a content supply agreement it had with Warner Bros in 2017 after the network went into administration.

The deal will have immediate benefits for Foxtel viewers with the addition of the highly-anticipated psychological horror series Castle Rock to the FOX SHOWCASE line-up this week.

Castle Rock comes from J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions and executive producers/writers Sam Saw & Dustin Thomason. Set in the Stephen King multiverse and featuring a stellar cast including André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Bill Skarsgård, with Jane Levy and Sissy Spacek, the chilling new 10-part series combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved worlds, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.

While the fictional town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career – CujoThe Dark Half, IT and Needful Things as well as the novella The Body and short storyRita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain reference to Castle Rock – Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller, a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most beloved stories.
