The first four seasons of SBS’s brand new sarcastic, secretly romantic comedy series, You’re The Worst, will launch on SBS VICELAND and SBS On Demand on Monday, 5 November. The fifth and final season of the series will also be fast tracked to SBS On Demand in 2019.
Created and written by Stephen Falk (Weeds, Orange is the New Black), You’re The Worst centres on two toxic, self-destructive people who fall in love and attempt a relationship. It’s the story of Gretchen and Jimmy – their fears, heartbreak, romance and friendship, and the fact that sometimes the worst people can make the best partners.
Narcissistic, brash and self-destructive Jimmy Shive-Overly, played by Chris Geere (Modern Family), thinks all relationships are doomed. Cynical, people-pleasing and stubborn Gretchen Cutler, played by Aya Cash (The Wolf of Wall Street), knows that relationships aren’t for her. So when they meet at a wedding, it’s only natural that the two of them go home together and, despite their better judgment, begin to find themselves falling for each other.
Rounding out the cast is Desmin Borges (The Good Wife) who plays Edgar Quintero, Jimmy’s once homeless, war veteran roommate, and Kether Donohue (The Carrie Diaries) as Lindsay Jillian, Gretchen’s best friend and former partner in crime who’s now struggling with a life of domesticity. You’re The Worst is produced by FX Productions.
The first season of You’re The Worst will air on SBS VICELAND every Monday night at 10.00pm from 5 November, with all four seasons (forty-nine episodes) also dropping on SBS On Demand first thing that day.
The new series joins a range of unique content coming to SBS On Demand in November, including the Australian premiere of Waco (1 November), Spanish drama The Plague (15 November), season two of acclaimed crime thriller The Teach (22 November), and Norwegian soccer drama Home Ground (29 November).
You’re The Worst lands on SBS On Demand on Monday, 5 November and airs on SBS VICELAND at 10pm that evening.
