With its raw-and-raunchy comic sensibility and iconic lead character, Kenny Powers – played to perfection by Danny McBride (star of Larry David’s recent Clear History on showcase) – Eastbound & Down has been a cult hit since its premiere in 2009.

The final season finds Kenny Powers for the first time out of baseball altogether, and explores what happens to athletes – at least an arrogant, ego-driven one like Kenny – when they retire. He hates his job as Assistant Manager at a car-rental outlet, loathes the couples nights with the numbingly boring Gene and Dixie and accompanies his wife April to bland awards dinners for realtors. The vices of his playing days are a thing of the past – until Kenny runs into Guy Young, a onetime teammate and current host of the raucous TV talk show Sports Sesh. Guy convinces Kenny to quit the rat race and get back in the game. Welcome back, Kenny Powers!

Returning cast regulars include Katy Mixon as Kenny’s wife, April; Steve Little as Kenny’s faithful sidekick, Stevie; John Hawkes (Oscar®-nominated for Winter’s Bone) as Kenny’s brother, Dustin; and Elizabeth De Razzo as Maria, Stevie’s wife. Season 4 will feature guest stars Tim Heidecker (Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie) as Gene, and Ken Marino (Wanderlust, Burning Love) as talk-show host, Guy Young.

Eastbound & Down is the brainchild of several of Hollywood’s top comedy minds, with executive producers including Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, Jody Hill and McBride.

McBride starred in director David Gordon Green’s All the Real Girls, winner of a Sundance Jury Prize, and teamed with Hill and Ben Best on the Sundance hit The Foot Fist Way. Green also directed McBride in Pineapple Express. McKay wrote and directed Step Brothers, Anchorman and Talledega Nights. Henchy, an Entourage writer/producer runs Gary Sanchez Productions, a company co-founded with Ferrell and McKay, which launched FunnyOrDie.com.
