The Block is searching for its next teams, with casting now open for the 2027 season of Nine’s long-running renovation series.
Applications are now open for the show’s 23rd season, with teams of two being sought Australia-wide ahead of filming from February 2027, while the current season continues to air on Nine.
The casting call reads:
“Calling all Blockheads!
Applications now open for The Block 2027!
We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated, hardworking teams of two to participate in the twenty third season of Australia’s biggest and best renovating challenge.”
Successful teams must be available for a 12-week shoot and will not be able to work during filming, while previous home renovation experience is welcomed but not required for both partners.
The location for the new season has not been confirmed, although Sunbury in Melbourne’s north-west has been tipped as a potential destination, with reports suggesting producers are looking at a return to a more traditional suburban setting.

You need to be a blockhead to even want to go on that show. It’s all contrived bullshit.
A Sunday night ratings winner!
