ABC outlines extensive Anzac Day coverage across broadcast and digital platforms

Australians will be able to mark Anzac Day on April 25 through comprehensive coverage provided by the ABC across television, radio, streaming and online services.

The national broadcaster will deliver coverage spanning ABC Radio, ABC listen, ABC TV, ABC iview and its digital platforms, featuring commemorations, special programming and local marches from communities around the country.

The day’s coverage begins with the Sydney Dawn Service, to be broadcast live from 4.20am (AEST) across ABC TV, the ABC NEWS channel, ABC iview and the ABC listen app. This will be followed by the Canberra Dawn Service at 5.30am (AEST).

Later in the day, ABC TV and the ABC NEWS channel will carry international services, including the Gallipoli Dawn Service from 12.30pm (AEST) and the Villers-Bretonneux Dawn Service from 1.30pm (AEST). The governor-general’s address is scheduled for 6.55pm.

Coverage will also extend to local commemorations, with each capital city featuring a live broadcast of its respective march. Broadcast times for dawn services vary across states.

In Sydney, the dawn service will air from 4.20am on 702 ABC Sydney, ABC Radio NSW, ABC listen, ABC TV, the ABC NEWS channel and ABC iview, followed by the Sydney March from 9am on ABC TV and ABC iview.

In the national capital, the Canberra Dawn Service will be broadcast from 5.30am on Radio National, ABC Local Radio, ABC listen, ABC TV, the ABC NEWS channel and ABC iview, with the Canberra March to follow at 9.30am on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Melbourne’s dawn service will be available from 6am via 774 ABC Melbourne and ABC listen, while the Melbourne March will be shown from 9am on ABC TV and ABC iview.

In Hobart, coverage will focus on the Hobart March from 11am on ABC TV and ABC iview, incorporating highlights from the earlier dawn service.

Brisbane viewers can watch the Brisbane March live from 10am on ABC TV and ABC iview.

In Adelaide, the dawn service will be broadcast from 6am across 891 ABC Adelaide, ABC Radio SA, ABC listen, ABC TV and ABC iview, with the Adelaide March airing from 9am to 12pm, including highlights of the morning service.

The Darwin Dawn Service will be carried from 6am on 105.7 ABC Darwin, ABC Radio NT, ABC listen, ABC TV and ABC iview, followed by the Darwin March from 9am on ABC TV.

In Perth, the Perth March will be shown live from 9am on ABC TV and ABC iview, featuring highlights from the dawn service.

Anzac Day coverage airs April 25 across ABC TV, ABC NEWS channel, ABC Radio, ABC listen, ABC iview and online from 4.20am (AEST)
