Netflix has dropped the first look at The Thursday Murder Club, the feature adaptation of Richard Osman’s bestselling novel, set to premiere globally on August 28, 2025.
Directed by Chris Columbus and produced in partnership with Amblin Entertainment, the film stars Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie as a group of retirees who spend their spare time solving unsolved murders.
But when a real crime occurs close to home, their amateur sleuthing turns unexpectedly serious.

Mirren plays Elizabeth, Brosnan is Ron, Kingsley appears as Ibrahim, and Imrie portrays Joyce — the unlikely crime-solving quartet at the centre of the mystery.
The ensemble cast also includes Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, Jonathan Pryce, David Tennant, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant, and Ingrid Oliver.
The screenplay is written by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote, with producers Jennifer Todd and Chris Columbus. Osman, who wrote the original novel, serves as an executive producer alongside Jo Burn, Eleanor Columbus, Holly Bario, and Jeb Brody.
