On Monday night, Australia chose 23-year-old Denvah Baker-Moller from Rockingham, 24-year-old Amy Reeves from Broome, and 30-year-old Dylan Wright from the Northern Rivers as their Australian Idol Grand Finalists live on Channel Seven and 7plus.

The Top 6 opened the show with an inspiring performance of Giant by Calvin Harris and Rag’n’Bone man, before hosts Ricki-Lee and Scott Tweedie announced each contestant would perform again solo. Then, it was time to say goodbye to three incredibly talented performers.

Judges Kyle Sandilands, Marcia Hines and Amy Shark recognised how difficult it was to say goodbye, as Australian Idol farewelled 22-year-old Trent Richardson from Emu Park, Queensland; 20-year-old Ivana Ilic from Melbourne; and 23-year-old Isaac McCallum from Ulladulla, NSW.

On departing the competition, Ivana admitted:

“Obviously, you want to go all the way but that’s not what this is all about. I’ve gone out there and showed Australia who I am and who I want to be as an artist.”

Amy said:

“You are such a powerhouse I’m so excited for your career. Everyone watching you is so aware of how incredible you are.”

Issac thanked the judges for believing in him.

“It is what it is, at the end of the day. I am grateful to make the Top 6 who would have ever thought!”

Kyle said:

“You’re the one I’m most proud of… you’re the one I was most worried about, you stood up and you have shined.”

Trent said:

“Idol was my first-time singing, with a crowd, on stage. I’ve loved every minute of it, I feel at home. I can promise this won’t be the last time on this stage.”

Marcia said:

“There is something really special about you, you’re a beautiful young man.”

Denvah acknowledged making the Grand Finale was a bittersweet moment:

“I always take so long to process; my heart just went with Ivana then. I’m so excited Australia. Thank you. I went on this thinking I’m just a country singer, but maybe I’m the country singer not just a country singer anymore!”

Denvah put her unique country spin on a moving rendition of Tina Turner’s classic Simply The Best, as Marcia reflected on Denvah’s first audition and praised her “for staying true to who she is.”

Emotional, Amy said:

“I have no words other than thank you Australia, I’m shaking like a leaf right now.”

Amy Shark said:

“You really could go all the way.”  Marcia admitted: “I adore listening to you.”

Dylan called his Idol Grand Finale berth “unexpected” before praising his fellow contestants who have become close friends.

After his performance of Ordinary People by John Legend, Amy declared:

“I think there is no stopping you now.”

  1. Find this show ridiculous when one person has claimed they voted for one person a few hundred times. Should be one vote per person. Sure the outcome would be different.

    • Gerry Wialletton I agree with you Ivana is far better than Denvah. Ivana will get on in the music her voice is amazing xxx

  2. Amy is the likely winner on voice ability but I’m thinking Denvah could steal it on popularity and unique voice, just saying ❤️💯

  3. Any one deserves to win!
They are my top 3 faves from the start so anyone who wins is a very fair decision
    For the winner congrats
For the runners up your career will surely shoot up as well
All 3 are very deserving they’re all good looking and each have their unique appeal

  4. Who cares we all know that Dylan is set to win even though there were far better singers who left it’s all rigged look how much he has been flooded on Facebook and other media outlets a lot more than anyone else he’s an ok singer but not the best by far

  5. All the best guys my vote is for Denvah you totally Rock girl just pure and simple great young talent this year is very hard for the judges coz you all have a awesome voice but it’s rooms for you all in the music industry try the voice is good to Dylan you are wow factor to Amy you also got it girl friend as Macia Hines say but the angel voice quarries.and the guitar in her hand pure and simple sure the world has see its Denvah for me this year good luck to you all guys you all rock

  6. I would love Denvah to win to be 1st Country singer to become Australian Idol. Denvah has a lovely and unusual voice plus she from Rockhampton in Central Queensland.

    • Trevor Caunt first yodeling dunno bout singer. I love country music but dont like the yodeling or cracking voice. She has fun though thats the main thing.

    • All 3 will end haveing a career 🙂 i dont the yodeller but i see shes having fun. I love amy n dyan love there song choices and beautiful voices.

    • Emily Shewchuk i find her very annoying but each to there own. Good luck to anyone of them really. They all put in the work follow there dreams.

    • Emily Shewchuk her voice but like i said each to there own. I dont no her personally so i cant say she annoying as a person it just her voice that annoys me. But my voice probably annoys people too lol😂😂😂😂

  7. Amy has got what it takes to win – very impressive voice quality, versatility and the ability to perform highly difficult songs with ease and confidence! ❤️ Let us vote for Amy!!!

  8. Amy is a poser, fake tears and silly waving of her hand. She has a powerful voice but just the same as past winners whereas Dylan and Denvah are unique. .

  9. They will all be winners because they have made it to the top…Amy has the best voice and her performances were very consistent .so I think she should win ..Amy 1 Dylan 2 Denvah 3

  10. Amy certainly has the best vocals, however, Denvah really engages with the audience which is so important and she is so sweet and quirky.

  11. Their All so good, I love Amy She is amazing, but Dillon and Denvah really stepped up Tonight, good luck to You All.

  12. I say they all deserve to Win I reakon they divide the prize money by 3 &I’m pretty sure Sony can take these 3 talented Aussies on … their plenty of room to give these 3contracts …their all amazing and who ever wins remember it probally because they recieve 1 more vote then you all the best🎶🎶🎶🎵🎸🎼🎵🎼🎶

  13. Amy is good but I think Dylan and Denvah are more natural artists. It’s either/or for me. I think it will be Denvah 1st and Dylan 2nd.
Either way they are all stars!!
