Morning show Studio 10 today bowed out after a solid run after 10 years on-air, 2610 episodes, multiple timeslot’s, countless co-hosts, and format changes over the years.

The final show today was a great look back over the last 10 years for all the amazing moments that had gone to air over the years, as well as a great reminder that some of the best moments were often those that were unplanned and where things didn’t always quite go to plan.

The show, formerly co-created by our own Rob McKnight here at TV Blackbox, premiered in early November of 2013 alongside new breakfast program Wake Up and ultimately changed the morning TV landscape with its unique round table format and live studio audience.

Studio 10 was up against it from the start with strong competition from commercial rivals including The Morning Show on Channel 7 and at the time Mornings on Channel 9, as well as lack of decent lead-in after Wake Up was axed by the network after just 6 months on air, but battled on as “the little show that could”.

At one point the show was really starting to hit its stride resonating with viewers and even started to regularly compete for number 2 spot, regularly beating rival Mornings (now Today Extra) and increasing its audience year-on-year with a highly engaged and passionate audience base.

10 Years of Studio 10:

Alas it wasn’t to continue after network executives made a string of changes to the program, including moving the program to the Pyrmont newsroom floor, firing then Executive Producer Rob McKnight, as well as losing a number of the original panellist line-up which caused audiences to plummet.

Following a string of other changes over the years, the final nail in the coffin for the program was losing long time ‘Bus Driver’ and original host Sarah Harris at the end of last year when she (very deservingly) accepted the co-host position on 10’s nightly current affairs panel show The Project.

It remains to be seen what Network 10 have in store for the new morning line-up in 2024, with the broadcaster expected to replace the vacated 2-hour slot with cooking shows and repeats of other programs such as Neighbours and The Bold & The Beautiful.

  1. Thanks guys. You all did your best but you can’t fight the station’s bean-counters forever. Merry Christmas to all. 🤩🤩🤩

  2. Very disappointed to see absolutely NO MENTION of JONATHAN COLEMAN in the 10 Year Review of Studio 10 this morning. Jono was a staple of the show for years. But sadly, the people putting the ‘review’ together obviously weren’t.

  3. Very sad – know some awesome people on this show – just going to put this is capitals. HOW ARE THE SO CALLED FREE TO AIR COMPANIES GOING TO FULFILL THEIR CHARTER WITH LOCAL CONTENT……..

  4. Great show but doomed when they changed the format. One thing I learned in business is that change is not always for the better.

  5. If they had listened to viewers complaining about the same compare may be things could have been different

    • Hazel Evans I think it was much better with Ita and Joe. Joe used to ask hard questions and say what he thought. I didn’t mind the Irish bloke but it was more just his and his co hosts opinion not, an open forum thing.

    • Jared Lloyd and Natasha Belling. So many great people on that show to begin with. The Irish guy imo, should have stuck to dancing.

    • Dianne Anthony another show that has 10 time any sky news evening show axed
Proves how much Murdoch hates the Labor party

  6. Chanell 10 are vey enviromtslly friendly as they will recycle all these people into other failed programs
Angela Bishop spends her life having sicophantic interviews with the rich and famous The public is aware of this and instantly turn off

    • Tommy Buttons what exactly was woke about studio 10, seemed like a bunch of right wing wankers talking about themselves to me. Not that I ever watched it but I know kak was on it and there is absolutely nothing woke or formed about her.

  7. They should axe The Project – who wants to watch a repeat of news after watching an hour of it just before the project – boring

  8. It went before it become so woke.
Denise’s attitude towards Scott Morrison and Tony Abbott was disgusting. Raving about Albo made me sick. Used to watch it when it first started, tuned into the last show.
No wonder it went off the air.

  9. Nobody has to watch shows that you don’t like, but all people bang on about is that they should be canned. Why do these shows affect your life so much. Plenty of other channels to watch. Do you ever think about the people that possibly become unemployed when shows finish.

  10. I watched the last show because I enjoyed it in the old days.but not a mention of the old members Sarah was the only one..maybe they didn’t want to be associated with it.

  11. Finally, channel 10 should keep going, let’s see.. I’m a celebrity( bad tv) the project(boring), the bachelor (both), bold and the beautiful( Yankee bullshit), the list goes on.

  12. Studio 10 once was good but went down hill fast glad its gone. The panel I have only watched two episodes and that was two too many that need to go as well.

  13. That blackie girl (who’s not even in the photo) fukked up studio 10, you let her push the wokeness, now you’re all getting new jobs, good luck too. Plus most if not all of you so called tv stars actually fukkn suck balls. You’re hopeless, you lost the real people’s vote. Funny how all these people go woke but won’t watch your crappy tv shows, you know what i reckon, you can all go and get fukked. Suck shit enormously too….

  14. Sorry to see it gone, great show. Shame Days of our Lives is still hanging as around. That should be gone.

    • They’ll put a shitty show on in its place.
      So ppl will complain.

Atm it’s still on in the morning I’ve noticed but I seen the last show.

  15. if you take it away itwill only allow ten to stick coming shows like gladiator to show continually for the next month before it even gets here

  16. Was never the same after they changed the original cast and concept, Kerry- Ann also gave the show some balance and it showed how far to the left of politics channel 10 always leans to.

  17. I stopped watching when Jess left. Natasha and David Robinson were my favorites.
Jonathan Coleman was the glue that held the show together. Rob McNight must be resurrected, please!
