Nicole Kidman Lights Up Sydney’s Palace Verona with ‘Expats’ Premiere
In a glamorous return to her roots, Nicole Kidman attended the Palace Verona in Sydney for a special advance screening of the upcoming Prime Video series Expats. This event marks a significant moment for Kidman, as she revisited the venue 27 years after its grand opening, which she also attended.
Expats, a six-episode limited series, is directed by Lulu Wang and co-executive produced by Kidman herself. The show is an adaptation of the best-selling novel The Expatriates by Janice Y. K. Lee and is set to launch globally on Prime Video on January 26, 2024.
The screening was one of the final events at the Oxford Street theatre before its planned relocation in early 2024. Joining Kidman were series writer and executive producer Alice Bell, actor Blessing Mokgohloa, and Kidman’s husband, Keith Urban. Notable guests included Nina Oyama, James Tobin, Emma Horn, Danijela Dacic, Lucia Field, Olivia Frazer, Justin Hill, and Angela Bishop, who hosted the event.
Expats delves into the lives of various Hong Kong residents, unveiling a story that intertwines blame and accountability following a pivotal encounter. The series promises to offer a rich narrative exploring the complexities of life and relationships.
The cast features an ensemble including Sarayu Blue, Ji-young Yoo, Brian Tee, and Jack Huston, alongside Kidman.
