BINGE is gearing up for the premiere of its new limited drama series, Apples Never Fall, starring the acclaimed Annette Bening and Sam Neill.
The series, adapted from Liane Moriarty’s New York Times bestseller, is scheduled for a March 2024 release.
Helmed by Melanie Marnich, known for her work on The OA and The Affair, and executive produced alongside David Heyman of Wonka and Barbie fame, the series promises a compelling narrative. Joining Bening and Neill are Alison Brie, Jake Lacy, Conor Merrigan-Turner, and Essie Randles, each bringing depth to the story of the Delaney family.
The plot revolves around Stan (Neill) and Joy (Bening), former tennis coaches and academy owners. Entering their retirement years, they anticipate quality time with their adult children (Brie, Lacy, Merrigan-Turner, Randles). However, their lives take a dramatic turn when a mysterious young woman appears, leading to Joy’s sudden disappearance and the unravelling of family secrets.
This series promises to delve into themes of family dynamics, secrets, and the challenges of appearances versus reality. With a cast of seasoned actors and a strong production team, Apples Never Fall on BINGE is poised to be a significant addition to the 2024 television landscape.
Apples Never Fall is a production of Heyday Television, a part of Universal International Studios, a division of Universal Studio Group. Marnich’s role as writer, showrunner, and executive producer is pivotal, with additional executive production by David Heyman, Gregory Jacobs, Liane Moriarty, Annette Bening, Joe Hurtua, Albert Page, and Jillian Share. Chris Sweeney, recognised for The Tourist and Back to Life, joins as an executive producer and director of several episodes, including the pilot.
