Prime Video is set to introduce beIN SPORTS as its inaugural live sports channel, a significant development for Prime Video Channels in Australia. This collaboration is poised to transform the way Aussies experience their beloved sports.

beIN SPORTS‘s integration into Prime Video Channels marks a new chapter, offering over 3,500 live events annually.

The service caters predominantly to fans of international football, tennis, and rugby, showcasing premier leagues and tournaments such as Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, English Football League, the Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals, Scottish Professional Football League, Africa Cup of Nations, ATP and WTA tours, and European Rugby Union.

The new deal comes after the Foxtel/Kayo removed access to beIN Sports for its customers earlier this year, blaming the loss of key events including International Rugby, Six Nations Rugby, Champions League and LaLiga which made the channels no longer financially viable for the Foxtel Group.

The head of Amazon Prime Video Australia and New Zealand, Hushidar Kharas, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership:

“This new partnership with beIN SPORTS is an exciting step forward for Prime Video’s sports offering, and gives our customers more choice of the best live and on-demand sports, all in one place,”

he said. Kharas highlighted the Australian audience’s passion for live sports, noting that the addition of beIN SPORTS through Prime Video Channels will unlock a myriad of marquee events for sports aficionados.

Echoing the sentiment, Mike Kerr, managing director of beIN Asia Pacific, remarked on the significance of this alliance:

“This partnership with Prime Video Channels marks a significant milestone for beIN SPORTS as we continue to enhance the sports viewing experience for fans in Australia.

Through this exciting alliance, we are not only expanding our reach but also ensuring that the sports community have unparalleled access to our premium and exclusive sports coverage,”

Kerr stated. He reiterated beIN SPORTS‘s commitment to providing top-tier sports entertainment to the region.

beIN SPORTS will be available as a paid monthly add-on subscription at $14.99 AUD per month via Prime Video Channels, with a seven-day free trial and anytime cancellation.

  1. $14.99 is a joke. I’d be surprised if anyone pays this. I’ll just wait for the Prime Day or Black Friday specials.

  2. Why is this such an “exciting” story? beIn sports is already available in Australia for $14.95 per month! If the sevice was produced free within the Prime Video as it was on Foxtel/Kayo then it would be an exciting story!

  3. shame thought channel 10 paramount would of got it and put some free games on fta but nope ..amazon shonky prime video is ok 1 series movie a week at best..wonder if the yank tossas will be calling it soccer or football haha..had amazon prime it wasnt bad postage wise easy to deal with but talking to help omg AI bots useless 3 times i got transferred

  4. I’ve been waiting for beIN Sports but disappointed that it’s $14.99, the same as their own service anyway. Sorry, but that’s a hard “no” from me!
