Jessica Millward appointed as European Correspondent for 9NEWS, Based in London.
In a significant career advancement, Jessica Millward is set to embrace a new challenge as the European correspondent for 9NEWS, stationed at the network’s London Bureau.
This announcement was made by Darren Wick, Channel 9’s National Director of News and Current Affairs, in a communication to colleagues.
“I’m pleased to announce that Jessica Millward will be moving into a new role with 9 NEWS as a European correspondent, based in our LONDON Bureau.”
Millward’s journey in journalism is marked by dedication and resilience. Her career initiation was with WIN NEWS Queensland in regional television, where she grasped the fundamentals of the field. Her move to Brisbane in 2012 marked her entry into the 9 NEWS Queensland team, where she demonstrated rapid growth as a producer and reporter.
2015 saw Millward take a leap into breakfast television, joining TODAY as Brisbane’s reporter. The role, known for its demanding nature involving sleep deprivation, live coverage, and breaking news, was where Millward not only coped but excelled.
“These breakfast roles are some of the most challenging in our network. Sleep deprivation, live television, breaking news and high adrenaline assignments are daily fare. Jess threw herself into it all and thrived.”
Returning to 9 NEWS Queensland in 2022 as a senior reporter, Millward continued her exceptional performance, contributing to another triumphant ratings year for the Brisbane team.
Her new position in London, commencing in February, follows the return of Carrie-Anne Greenbank to 9NEWS Melbourne after a successful tenure at the bureau.
