MasterChef Australia is gearing up for its 16th season with a further addition to its judging panel.
The show has confirmed that Jamie Oliver, a globally celebrated chef and television personality, will join as the first guest judge for the upcoming 2024 season.
The new season, which commences filming this week, is set to benefit from Oliver’s extensive culinary expertise and his unique approach to mentorship. Oliver expressed his enthusiasm about returning to the MasterChef Australia kitchen, noting the show’s high production values and its transformative impact on contestants.
“Returning to the MasterChef kitchen and spending time in Australia makes me very happy. I think MasterChef Australia is the best food show in the world – amazing production values and an incredible story of transformation.” Oliver stated.
“I love seeing how the contestants constantly surprise themselves about what they can achieve. More than that, MasterChef connects Aussies to food and the joy of cooking and that can only be a positive thing.”
Oliver’s involvement in the show is not just a fleeting appearance. His two-week stint marks the longest tenure of any guest chef in the history of MasterChef Australia, promising an in-depth and impactful contribution to the show.
Season 16 of MasterChef Australia heralds a fresh phase for the series. Andy Allen will be accompanied by three new judges: Poh Ling Yeow, the runner-up from the show’s inaugural season, Jean-Christophe Novelli, a highly respected restaurateur, and Sofia Levin, a renowned food critic.
With its blend of veteran expertise and new perspectives, MasterChef Australia on Network 10 and 10 Play is poised to maintain its status as a premier culinary competition, offering viewers and contestants alike an unparalleled gastronomic experience when it premieres in 2024.
