As the AFL Women’s competition gears up for its eighth season, Seven Network has assembled a star-studded lineup of commentators.

Fans can catch all the thrilling matches live, free, and in HD on Seven and its online platform 7plus.

A headline-grabbing addition to this season’s commentary crew is Daisy Pearce, the former Melbourne star and premiership captain. Retiring earlier this year, Pearce joins the Seven team and will make her debut in the opening match between reigning champs Melbourne and Collingwood at Ikon Park.

Pearce isn’t the sole attraction, however. Seven’s team for 2023 also welcomes back top-tier commentators such as Jason Bennett, Nigel Carmody, and Natalie Edwards, among others.

They’re joined by current Melbourne defender Libby Birch and 7NEWS’ Anna Hay, Mark Soderstrom, and Laura Spurway.

For added insight, tune into Seven’s Thursday night sports show, The Front Bar. Hosts Andy Maher, Mick Molloy, and Sam Pang will be joined by Pearce and retired West Coast Eagles’ ruckman Nic Naitanui.

Seven Network’s Round One AFLW coverage is extensive. Alongside the Melbourne-Collingwood opener, other matches include Carlton v Gold Coast SUNS, Adelaide Crows v Port Adelaide, and several more. These matches can be streamed live and on-demand via 7plus.

States like NSW, Queensland, SA, and WA also have the privilege to watch every home-state game live and free across the season on Seven and 7plus.

Abbey Holmes, one of the commentators, has high expectations for the 2023 season. With the competition growing stronger, Holmes predicts “the best season yet,” with excitement brewing around potential rising stars and top teams.
