Acclaimed actor Jason Donovan is set to narrate the captivating new documentary series, Outback Farm, providing an intimate look at a daring family’s transition to a new way of life.
Danyelle and Anthony Haigh, having given up their water drilling occupation, have taken on the arduous challenge of farming in the unforgiving Australian Outback. Formerly living on the road, the couple made the dramatic decision to offer their young sons, Heath, 8, and Theo, 4, a more settled life.
Outback Farm, produced by Prospero Productions, is scheduled for its much-anticipated premiere on 22nd August on 7Mate.
The family left their home in Queensland, moving a daunting 3,000 kilometres to an isolated, dilapidated farm in the heart of Australia. The area’s harsh, desert landscape brings with it a host of challenges; scorching temperatures often surpass 40 degrees, sudden violent storms devastate crops and livestock, and bush fires are a constant threat.
First-time farmers Danyelle and Anthony are staking their future on an ambitious dream: to carve out a unique niche in the cattle industry by cultivating hay in the desert. The venture comes with significant financial risk, and they’ve given themselves a tight deadline of just two years to achieve success. The couple, owners of Murranji Water Drillers, have spent over 15 years living and working on the road, drilling for water across the top end of Australia for nine months of each year. Despite their occasional disagreements, they are united in their audacious ambition to provide a more secure future for their children.
Both Danyelle and Anthony are no strangers to the spotlight, having previously starred in the hit series Outback Truckers. Danyelle was also featured in the charitable adventure series Adventure All Stars, making the couple well-versed in navigating the world of televised reality.
