SBS VICELAND will tonight premiere “Deep Fake Neighbour Wars,” a groundbreaking TV series that is the first of its kind to utilise deep fake technology in a long-form narrative.
The show promises an ingenious blend of reality and illusion, as it casts famous celebrities embroiled in suburban disputes, portrayed and voiced by UK impressionists.
The debut episode brings bus driver Kim Kardashian’s dream move to southeast London to the fore, which quickly turns sour due to conflicts with her green-thumbed neighbour, Idris Elba. Idris, who lives downstairs, begins to limit her use of their communal garden, setting the stage for a contentious neighbourhood war.
In a parallel plot set in Southend on Sea, climate activist Greta Thunberg locks horns with her next-door neighbours — florist Conor McGregor and scaffolder Ariana Grande — over their unending passion for Christmas decorations.
The second episode features single mother Rihanna and her infant son, Kevin Hart, who had previously enjoyed an amicable relationship with their neighbour Usain Bolt. However, the arrival of Usain’s new partner, former farmer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, shatters their harmonious existence.
Another story unfolds in Coventry, where school caretaker and shopping channel enthusiast Adele is distraught when her new electric awning becomes a target for her neighbour Jake Paul’s fleet of racing pigeons.
