Kicking off at 11am AEST in Eden Park, Auckland, the USA squares off against Vietnam. The formidable USWNT are pursuing their third consecutive victory, a feat supported by an impressive 12-game winning streak since 2011. Despite the US team’s powerhouse status, their opponent, Vietnam, has shown their mettle, earning a spot in the tournament through the Asian Cup. If Vietnam can pull off a victory, it would be one of the most remarkable upsets in FIFA Women’s World Cup™ history.

The action continues at 5pm AEST in Hamilton, New Zealand, with a clash between Zambia and Japan. Japan, a consistent fixture in the tournament, goes up against Zambia, a first-time participant. A strong start for Japan, winners in 2011 and finalists in 2015, could be anticipated against Zambia, who are ranked 77th in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The next face-off at 7.30pm AEST features England, the reigning European champions, taking on Haiti, who are making their debut. Despite key injuries to stars Beth Mead, Leah Williamson, and Fran Kirby, England is a force to be reckoned with, bolstered by the likes of emerging talent Lauren James. Haiti, meanwhile, is betting on young talent Melchie Dumornay to make a significant impact.

The final match of the day at 10pm AEST pits Denmark against China. Denmark, returning to the tournament after a 16-year absence, and China, last year’s Asian Cup victors, both bring solid records to the competition.

Star players to watch include Alex Morgan of the USA and Pernille Harder from Denmark, along with Japan’s Yui Hasegawa and England’s Lauren James. These footballing luminaries are sure to leave their mark on the tournament.

Fans can catch all the matches live and on-demand on Optus Sport, with coverage beginning from 10am AEST, running through until after Denmark vs China.
