The Ashes did pretty well for Nine as well…pretty much all quiet on the other fronts.

Channel 7

Seven draw a massive crowd as they leant into the opening game of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, which rolled out like this:
FIFA Women’s World Cup Pre-Game (663,000 (632,000 Seven BNE/SYD/MEL/ADL; 31,000 7mate PER))
FIFA Women’s World Cup: Australia v Republic of Ireland (1,237,000 (1,144,000 Seven BNE/SYD/MEL/ADL; 93,000 7mate PER)
FIFA Women’s World Cup Post-Game (695,000 (632,000 Seven BNE/SYD/MEL/ADL; 63,000 7mate PER)).
The night closed out with Fantasy Island (84,000).

Seven first in both primary (31.8%) and network (40.3%) rankings.

Channel 9

After opening with A Current Affair (679,000) Nine’s night split into
Thursday Night NRL Live (168,000 Nine BNE/SYD),
Thursday Night Knock-Off (38,000 Nine BNE/SYD),
and A+E After Dark (DNR),
or, the place where most eyes landed, The Ashes: Fourth Test Day 2 S1 (547,000 (382,000 Nine MEL/ADL/PER; 165,000 9Gem BNE/SYD)).

Nine second in both primary (21%) and network (30.8%) rankings.

Channel 10

10 not in the hunt against its commercial rivals with big sports offerings. The Project (167,000 6:30pm; 248,000 7pm) hit its week-low, while Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly Australia (308,000) draws what would otherwise be a reasonable audience for its premiere, yet given the competition it was humbled. The rest of the night runs through repeats of Law & Order: SVU (125,000), The Cheap Seats (74,000), and another of Law & Order: SVU (67,000) for some reason.

10 third in both primary (6.7%) and network (11.2%) rankings.

ABC

7:30 (354,000) and A Life in Ten Pictures (149,000) maintain a small late-week consistency for the ABC, and are by far their best. Grand Designs New Zealand (131,000) and One Plus One – The Elders (45,000) run into repeats of Art Works (38,000) and The Dark Emu Story (DNR).

ABC fourth in both primary (6.5%) and network (10.3%) rankings.

SBS

Inside Sydney Airport (116,000) continued for SBS, followed by Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy (83,000) and then Tour de France: Stage 18 (79,000).

SBS fifth in both primary (3.9%) and network (7.4%) rankings.
