Another messy schedule yields a messy result.


Channel 7

Seven had a messy schedule that meant most people watched
Seven’s AFL: Thursday Night Football (386,000 (321,000 Seven SYD/MEL/ADL; 65,000 7mate BNE/PER)).
The rest of the night looked like
Home & Away (290,000 (135,000 Seven BNE/PER; 155,000 7TWO SYD/MEL/ADL)),
repeat of Highway Patrol – Dreadful Drivers (157,000 (99,000 Seven BNE/PER; 58,000 7mate SYD/MEL/ADL)),
and Britain’s Got Talent (92,000 (53,000 Seven BNE/PER; 39,000 7mate SYD/MEL/ADL));
before getting back together with Fantasy Island (32,000).

Seven first in both primary (20.7%) and network (31.6%) rankings.

Channel 9

A Current Affair (625,000) opens Nine’s messy split night, before the choices of
Under 19’s State of Origin (159,000 Nine SYD/BNE)
OR
RBT (161,000 (133,000 Nine MEL/ADL/PER; 28,000 9Gem SYD/BNE))
Paramedics (140,000 (105,000 Nine MEL/ADL/PER; 35,000 9Gem SYD/BNE))
Casualty 24/7 (41,000 9Gem).
The schedule returned with Wimbledon: Day 11 (117,000).

Nine second in both primary (17.5%) and network (24.6%) rankings.


Channel 10

The smallest audience of the week slides in for The Project (183,000 6:30pm; 259,000 7pm) on 10, though MasterChef Australia (449,000) picks up a little from the smaller Wednesday evening showing. Repeats of Law & Order: SVU (156,000), The Cheap Seats (75,000), and another episode of Law & Order: SVU (45,000) complete the evening.

10 third in both primary (11.5%) and network (18.7%) rankings.


ABC

Thursdays have proven slower for the ABC, with 7:30 (385,000) standing up as their best by far. A Life in Ten Pictures (318,000), Grand Designs New Zealand (185,000), and One Plus One: The Elders (76,000) offered new content, with repeats of Art Works (37,000) and The Black Hand (DNR) filling out the schedule.

ABC fourth in both primary (10.1%) and network (15%) rankings.

SBS

Another quiet night for SBS that started with Inside Sydney Airport (99,000) and Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy (110,000), before it became all about Tour de France: Stage 12 (110,000).

SBS fifth in both primary (5.8%) and network (10.1%) rankings.


KEY DEMOS

16-39: Seven News 6:30pm/6pm (79,000) tied to beat Nine News 6pm, MasterChef Australia, and Nine News 6:30pm.

18-49: Seven News 6:30pm (143,000) led Seven News 6pm, MasterChef Australia, and Nine News 6:30pm/6pm.

25-54: Seven News 6:30pm (190,000) delivers a triple-demo win for the Network, followed by Nine News 6:30pm, Seven News 6pm, Nine News 6pm, and MasterChef Australia.


MULTI-CHANNELS

Home and Away (155,000) on 7TWO takes home the multi-channel win.

No changes to the previous week’s primetime line-up after the Total TV figures were added: The Ashes: Third Test Day 1 S1 (Nine) lifted 17% to 1,169,000/Thursday Night NRL Live lifted 12% to 405,000; MasterChef Australia (10) lifted 39% to 738,000; and Seven’s AFL: Thursday Night Football (Seven) lifted 1% to 478,000.

The BVOD best were The Ashes: Third Test Day 1 S1 (169,000), Home and Away (138,000), The Ashes: Third Test Day 1 S2 (127,000), The Ashes: Third Test Day 1 Lunch (114,000), and MasterChef Australia (108,000).
