As Australia embarks on a path towards the significant Indigenous Voice to Parliament Referendum, NITV’s acclaimed current affairs program, “The Point,” takes up the mantle to inform and enlighten all Australians about the forthcoming vote.
Through its latest season, “The Point: Referendum Road Trip,” set to premiere on Tuesday, 30 May at 7.30pm on NITV, the program is committed to delivering First Nations viewpoints, fostering essential debate and providing profound analysis.
The 2023 season’s premiere episode promises an in-depth exploration of what it truly means to have a voice, and the associated costs. Broadcasting live from the studio in Cammeraygal Country, proud hosts John Paul Janke, a Wuthathi and Meriam man known for his work in “Sunset Ceremony” and “Land Wars,” along with Narelda Jacobs, a Whadjuk Noongar woman and familiar face from Network Ten’s “10 News First Midday,” will steer the discussions.
The engaging hosts will be joined by a diverse panel comprising of experts and activists, kickstarting a season dedicated to the Voice to Parliament initiative. The season is geared towards sharing voices from communities across Australia, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the upcoming Referendum.
