The Foxtel Group has extended its exclusive broadcast rights deal with the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) until 2027, ensuring that Australian fans can enjoy the tournament for the next five years.
The deal will see all 74 games of the IPL season broadcast live on Fox Sports, which is available on Foxtel and Kayo Sports.
The current season of the IPL commenced last weekend.
The IPL is regarded as the most established T20 league worldwide, featuring the best short-format players from across the globe, including Australian stars David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, and Josh Hazelwood. The number of IPL games is expected to increase throughout the term of the deal.
Foxtel’s Commercial Director of Sport, Rebecca McCloy, said the IPL boasts a premier product that attracts cricket fans worldwide.
“The Tata IPL changed the game more than fifteen years ago and boasts a premier product that attracts intrigue and interest from cricket fans all over the globe.”
“This extended partnership with the Tata IPL compliments and bolsters our already unrivalled cricket offering for subscribers – with fans able to watch all of the big games in one place on Fox Sports.”
The deal is the latest in a series of agreements that Fox Sports has secured with international cricket organizations, including South Africa Cricket, England Cricket, Pakistan Cricket, and New Zealand Cricket.
Cricket fans can catch every ball of the 2023 Tata IPL tournament ad-break free during play on Fox Sports, which is available on Foxtel and Kayo Sports.
The Foxtel Group had previously signed a historic agreement with Cricket Australia in January, securing rights to all home Men’s and Women’s Tests, One Day Internationals, T20is, as well as Big Bash League and Women’s Big Bash League matches.
