The new limited series, WHITE HOUSE PLUMBERS created by Emmy winners David Mandel and Alex Gregory, along with Peter Huyck, is set to premiere on FOXTEL and On Demand this May.
The five-episode series stars Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux and takes audiences behind the scenes of the Watergate scandal.
The satirical drama follows the story of E. Howard Hunt, played by Harrelson, and G. Gordon Liddy, played by Theroux, as they become Nixon’s political saboteurs. Hunt and Liddy, both former CIA and FBI agents, are hired by the White House in 1971 to investigate the Pentagon Papers leak.
After their initial efforts failed, they landed on the Committee to Re-Elect the President, where they plotted several covert operations, including bugging the Democratic National Committee offices at the Watergate complex.
Their zealously protected presidency accidentally crumbled under the weight of their actions, and the series chronicles the effects on their families. WHITE HOUSE PLUMBERS unveils the lesser-known events leading to one of America’s most significant political crimes, proving that history is sometimes stranger than fiction.
