7NEWS Adelaide’s new presenters have made an impressive debut on their first night behind the news desk, doubling the ratings of their nearest competitor.
The flagship 6pm bulletin, presented by Rosanna Mangiarelli and Will Goodings, averaged 132,000 viewers over the hour, while Nine News presented by Kate Collins and Brenton Ragless, recorded 61,000 viewers.
Mangiarelli and Goodings, who took over the program from news veteran Jane Doyle, bring decades of experience to Adelaide’s most-watched bulletin, resonating well with viewers as they made their debut driving the state’s number one news program.
7NEWS Adelaide News Director, Chris Salter praised Goodings and Mangiarelli, who are backed up by Adelaide’s most experienced production and reporting team:
“Rosanna and Will are outstanding journalists, who have the experience and trust to steer Adelaide’s leading news service. They have great chemistry on and off air and bring a new energy to 7NEWS,”
“We knew South Australians would embrace them to fill Jane’s big shoes.”
The afternoon Aus Open tennis lead in is a big factor for Nine News. Older demos prefer game shows before the news.
Hi Andy – Seven News has been long dominant in Adelaide. It’s not just during the Aus Open. The big concern was the change to the new presenters and they appear to have picked up where Jane left off.
