The Magic Millions Raceday is set to return to the Seven Network, airing live and free direct from the Gold Coast Turf Club on Thursday, January 19th.

The event, which was originally planned to take place on Saturday, was rescheduled due to wet weather and poor visibility following the opening two races on Saturday afternoon.

Seven’s live coverage of the event, anchored by Australia’s preeminent sport broadcaster Bruce McAvaney, will begin at 3.00pm AEDT and will feature the headline events of the day, including the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas.

McAvaney will be joined by Seven’s horse racing commentary team, including Emma Freedman and Lizzie Jelfs, as they bring viewers all the action from the Gold Coast.

The $2 million 2YO Classic is the highlight of the meet and will headline Seven’s 90-minute broadcast. Leading contenders in the race include the Snowden team’s Empire of Japan and Sovereign Fund, as well as the powerhouse team of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, who will be looking to extend their lead in Magic Millions wins with their golden girl, Platinum Jubilee. Skirt The Law will be flying the Queensland flag for her all-female ownership group, with their eyes on the coveted Racing Women’s Bonus.

Another highlight of the day is the $2 million Magic Millions Guineas for three-year-olds. Yellow Brick, who conquered King Of The Mountain, will start as one of the favorites in the event, with competition expected to come from Sydney raider Russian Conquest and last-start Rising Stars winner, Spiritualised.

Thursday’s Magic Millions Raceday marks the culmination of a huge fortnight on the Gold Coast, with coverage of last week’s Magic Millions yearling sales also available on 7plus.

Sports fans can look forward to an epic weekend of sport on Seven, featuring the 2023 Santos Tour Down Under, the Big Bash League, Women’s One Day International cricket against Pakistan, and the NFL.
