Channel 10 viewers in Perth are set for a shakeup in 2023 with confirmation longstanding 10 News First presenter Narelda Jacobs is set to depart the evening bulletin.
Jacobs has presented Channel 10’s Perth bulletin since 2008.
A spokesperson for Channel 10 confirmed the change telling TV Blackbox,
“an announcement for her replacement is imminent.
The decision to exit the local 5pm bulletin comes after the network recently confirmed Jacobs is set to present a new national midday bulletin on Channel 10 in 2023.
Jacobs is also set to continue her role on the Studio 10 morning program which is moving to a 10am timeslot in January.
TV Blackbox understands Narelda Jacobs final Perth 5pm bulletin will be broadcast in the week commencing January 9.
Narelda Jacobs recently told viewers via Instagram;
“Perth, It’s been an honour to be with you at 5pm. Now let’s make it a bit earlier.”
The popular presenter first exited the Perth bulletin in 2019 when she scored a hosting gig on Studio10. However, she soon returned to news reading duties after the network moved the news presentation to its Sydney studios as part of a brutal cost-cutting initiative.
Currently, Channel 10 continues to produce the Perth bulletin from its Sydney facility, although Lachy Reid presents sport from the network’s Perth studio while Weather reports are produced on location with Beau Pearson.
