It’s a packed night of fights this weekend.

Sunday’s main event will see #4 ranked Curtis Blaydes tackle #9 ranked heavyweight Chris Daukaus.

Blaydes has won five of his last six fights in the Octagon and is hoping to build a winning streak with victory over Daukaus on Sunday.

The heavyweight impressed in his last fight at UFC 266, where he defeated tough challenger Jairzinho Rozenstruik by decision.

Daukaus similarly has won five of his last six fights as well, but his last visit to the Octagon ended in defeat. The loss to Derrick Lewis in December halted an undefeated run that stretched back to 2019.

A win for either at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Daukaus will see them back in heavyweight title contention, with the division wide open as it stands and a pack of fighters, including Australia’s Tai Tuivasa wanting to be next in line.

New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France will also carry local hopes into the Octagon on Sunday, as he looks to continue his climb towards a UFC championship opportunity.

#6 ranked Kara-France tackles his toughest career fight to date, against undefeated #2 ranked contender Askar Askarov.

Victory for the New Zealand flyweight could land him the next opportunity at reigning champion Deiveson Figueiredo.

Kara-France won both of his fights in 2021, including an impressive win over former UFC champion Cody Garbrandt.

Sunday’s opponent Askarov has never tasted defeat in his MMA career, holding a 14-0-1 record, which includes four victories since entering the UFC.

Also on the main card is a Women’s flyweight fight between two top ten hopefuls in Joanne Wood and Alexa Grasso.

ESPN will have everything covered in the lead up to UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs Daukaus with SC: UFC Fight Camp bringing all the news and preview ahead of Sunday’s event.
