ESPN will have UFC fight fans primed ahead of the biggest domestic showdown in years as New Zealand’s Israel Adesanya meets Australia’s Robert Whittaker for the UFC Middleweight Title at UFC 271 on Sunday February 13.
The sports leader will have every angle of fight week covered, before the pair step into the UFC Octagon this weekend in a highly anticipated rematch.
UFC 271 is a packed fight card, headlined by the Adesanya-Whittaker II title fight.
The pair clashed previously in October 2019 at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, where Adesanya defeated Whittaker by TKO to become the undisputed UFC Middleweight king.
Whittaker responded to that defeat in the best way possible, defeating a string of Middleweight contenders such as Darren Till , Jared Cannonier and Kelvin Gastelum to book his shot at redemption.

On Thursday February 10 at 5pm AEDT, ESPN will take fight fans into the camps of both Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya ahead of UFC 271, as part of a SportsCenter Special: UFC 271: Adesanya vs Whittaker II.
The special will feature the long history between the pair, the fallout from UFC 243 and the festering of a great rivalry that will culminate in another Octagon showdown.
In addition, the SC team looks at Australia’s heavyweight icon Tai Tuivasa and his clash with #3 ranked heavyweight Derrick Lewis – perhaps the toughest test of his MMA career.
ESPN’s UFC Live will also keep fans up to date with every aspect of UFC 271 fight week, with live coverage on Saturday February 12 and Sunday February 13.
The UFC will take over ESPN2 on Saturday February 13 with over 12 hours of UFC content, including UFC Live, UFC 271 Countdown and reliving Whittaker and Adesanya’s previous clashes in the Octagon against Anderson Silva, Kelvin Gastelum, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, and their own initial battle at UFC 243.
On Sunday February 13, ESPN is home to the UFC 271: Adesanya vs Whittaker II Prelims, beginning at 12pm AEDT – which are headlined by former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski against Jared Vanderaa.
The Gold Coast’s Casey O’Neill will also feature on the prelim card, facing a tough test against Roxanne Modaferri.
