With a staggering 43% of Australian adults missing the necessary literacy skills needed for everyday life, Lost For Words is an uplifting series that shines a light on Australia’s low literacy rates and showcases how easy it is for people to fall through the cracks.

Series One, Episode Three: The final two weeks of the program sees eight adult learners get reassessed and also attempt to achieve their personal goals.

Makere reads a book to her kids and Lamine attempts his learner’s permit. The students work on building confidence for their graduation speeches by taking a Masterclass at NIDA, run by famous Australian actor, writer and director Marcus Graham.

Host Jay Laga’aia brings together eight everyday Australians hoping to achieve their individual goals in a transformative journey where they will overcome their struggle to read, write, spell and change their lives forever.
