STAN secures new streaming agreements for WARNER and LIONSGATE content

Australian owned streaming service Stan has today announced an extension of its content partnership with WarnerMedia.

The new deal will bring a large slate of blockbuster movies to Stan, alongside over a thousand hours of Warner Bros. television content and a raft of new children’s animated series and films.

The agreement will see more than 180 major Hollywood movies become available to stream on Stan, including every film in the Harry Potter series (including the Fantastic Beasts films), The Lord of the Rings and The Hangover trilogies, and Dunkirk.

The deal also locks in a vast collection of DC titles for Stan, including Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, Wonder Woman, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, Suicide Squad, and many more.

In addition to the new WarnerMedia deal, the Australian Financial Review is reporting Stan has recently extended its content agreement with US based studio Lionsgate. Its understood this agreement will ensure Stan remains the home of popular content including Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, The Girlfriend Experience and Heels.

The extension of content agreements with WarnerMedia and Lionsgate comes at an important time for Stan. The arrival of Paramount+ in Australia means new content Showtime will no longer premiere on Stan, although the service will maintain the rights to new episodes of existing franchises including the hugely popular Billions.

Stan’s new agreement with WarnerMedia secures a significant amount television library for Stan including classic popular series, The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men.

Additionally Stan has renewed its existing rights to every episode of the iconic Warner Bros. television series The West Wing, The O.C., The Flash, Hart of Dixie, The Last Ship and The Following.

These series will continue alongside Stan’s current catalogue of WarnerMedia television content, which includes Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Pretty Little Liars, The Originals, iZombie, Containment and more.

Countless acclaimed animated DC series will soon arrive on Stan, including Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League and more, alongside an enormous library of animated DC films, including: Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Parts 1 and 2, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, Batman: Bad Blood, Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman, Superman/Batman: Apocalypse, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, Superman: Unbound, Superman: Doomsday, Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths, Justice League: Doom, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Justice League: War, Lego Justice League: Legion Of Doom!, Lego DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain, Lego DC Super Heroes: The Flash and many more.

Stan has also renewed its streaming rights for numerous Cartoon Network animated series, including Regular Show, Steven Universe, The Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, We Bare Bears and more – with Animaniacs seasons one and two and Infinity Train seasons two and three also set to receive their Australian premieres exclusively on Stan.
