Respected Queensland news presenter Samantha Heathwood is set to depart from her role at 9 News Queensland.
Heathwood has been with the network for the past nine years and developed a loyal following particularly in rural communities. At her peak she was presenting eight nightly 6pm bulletins broadcast across regional Queensland and Darwin.
Heathwood’s departure from the network comes at the same time as production on regional news service Nine News Local in Queensland, Victoria and Southern NSW is set to cease on June 30 due to changes in the regional affiliation agreement.
